Filling the gap in spinal cord injury recovery
My name is Jerico and I am 42 years old. In August 2010 I had a car accident that left me SCI 6 incomplete. I underwent surgery and 7 months of intensive physical therapy in Peru, where I am from. Through some research with my Spinal Cord Doctor, I was able to find Neuroxcel, in Florida. I was lucky enough to be accepted into the program and that a spot was available for me. I moved to Florida temporarily to be able to attend Neuroxcel on a daily basis. It is the best decision I ever made.
Neuroxcel not only has the best staff and strengthening equipment, it offers the best environment for all of us who come in every day for training, emotionally, psychologically and physically. The Inclusive Fitness Trainers, the owners, the clients, they all have a very positive attitude, always pushing forward, it is contagious. For us, who are experiencing a difficult time in our lives, the support we get from Neuroxcel goes far beyond physical Training. Tom (the president) and his brother Kevin are always there for us, giving us the best advice through their own experience. And I can't forget to mention Tommy, he is the best!
When I arrived at Neuroxcel ten months ago, I could not push my wheelchair, I could not transfer, could not sit up straight. Now I can do all of these things and I am stronger and more capable to take care of myself in many ways, all thanks to the CAST program. I continue to gain new movement and abilities which I will turn into new fuction.
I know that I still have a long road ahead but God has put me on the right path. If you are out there, trying to figure out what to do after an accident or an incident of this kind, don't hesitate and contact Neuroxcel, the best place on Earth!
