Spinal Cord Injury Recovery and Stroke Program
I suffered a spinal cord infarct while hospitalized for cardiac surgery in 2009. This left my spinal cord damaged from T2 to T12 . After spending 45 days in intensive care at the hospital , I was admitted to the Shepard Center in Atlanta for 90 days for rehab. When I returned home I could not find any center that provided appropriate equipment and personnel in South Florida that met my level of need until I began at
Neuroxcel. It is a unique advanced facility designed to allow stroke and spinal cord injury victims to maximize their recovery.
Fortunately for me it is close to home and it's CAST program provides the highest level of equipment and personnel in the south east.
I live in a two story home with the bedrooms on the second floor. The strength training at Neuroxcel allows me to make the increased transfers without undue fatigue. In addition, there have been significant improvements in my core strength and balance. The training has helped me with independence and fuctionality in my daily life.
