On June 12th 2007, while at a beach in my home country of Trinidad and Tobago, I was run over by a boat in the water. I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury and spent one month in a coma. There was little hope for my recovery.

Three months after my accident, I began my journey seeking a suitable placethat could provide the therapy and treatment that I needed as there was nothing available at home.

During the following three years I have been to several hospitals and rehabilitation centers in various places around the world. In June 2010, I started my treatment at the place that I consider the best I’ve come across, that place is NeuroXcel.

Several things influenced my decision to join NeuroXcel. One factor was the state of the art equipment that they had to assist the clients on their road to recovery. Another important thing was the fact that the owners had found themselves in a
similar situation as myself. The CEO’s brother is also confined to a wheelchair as a result of an accident. He too had been from one place to the next in his quest for the best option for rehabilitation until eventually they decided that the best way to ensure this would be to open their own facility.

In so doing, they have gone the extra mile to ensure that everything is done right, they have a vested interest in it by way of not only providing the best equipment and training under one roof but also by being a client himself. This personal aspect means that they are very aware of what each and every client goes through, what works and what needs attention. Bottom line is – we are all in it together with the same primary focus and that is recovery to the best of our ability. This is not your conventional rehabilitation center but rather a model for others to follow. With the combination of state of the art equipment backed by scientific research, along with the dedicated, amicable and well trained staff, I have made significant improvements in the three months that I have been here.
