The Biodex Unweighing System is one of Neuroxcel’s most versatile pieces of specialized equipment. The Unweighing System enables partial weight-bearing training to be conducted with the assurance of our client’s complete comfort and safety, and with convenient access to our client’s for manual assistance and observation.

Unlike the simple client lift devices on the market today, Biodex’s Unweighing System incorporates a dynamic suspension system that accommodates the vertical displacement of the center of gravity that occurs during normal gait. Biodex's patented off-loading mechanism maintains constant force while insuring safety by simply dialing in the amount of weight needed to off load for each individual client.

When walking, an individual's center of gravity typically moves through a vertical range from one to four inches, depending on walking speed. The Biodex system accommodates up to four inches of vertical displacement while maintaining a consistent level of unweighing. This Unweighing System facilitates a wide variety of our client’s needs which range from stability, strengthening and conditioning, weight bearing and balance.

Key components of the Biodex Unweighing System are:

  • Dynamic suspension - allows for natural vertical displacement of center of gravity
  • Patented off-loading mechanism - maintains constant force; simply dial in amount to off load
  • Single-point suspension - permits functional pelvic rotation
  • Unobstructed open access - offset design provides full access for easy patient interaction
  • Attachment rings - on support vest allow single or two-point pelvic stabilization when desired
